November 29, 2009 - Brandi

Little Brandi was found as a stray in Franklin, KY and taken to the shelter.   She's only 10-12 weeks old.   The story sounds like a broken record, but the shelter is horribly overcrowded, and being a pit bull, her odds were not good.   So thank you to Ashli with Friends of the Shelter for taking her from the shelter and finding a safe place for her to go while waiting for her permanent family.   That safe place is with Rosemary with Faith's Hope Rescue

Leg 1 - Roy
Leg 2 - Jan
Leg 3 - Team Mutt Muffs
Leg 4 - Scott

40-50 knot headwinds made for a LONG trip to KHLG (Wheeling, WV).   Eventually we make it and meet Pilot Jan and sweet little Brandi, who was catching a nap in the pilot lounge
Team Mutt Muffs John and Michele holding little Brandi.
She is quite a beautie and snoozed most of the way back to KDMW (Westminster, MD)

The same 45-50 knot winds hit our tail for the return trip, and we screamed home eastward.   Here the well-rested Brandi poses in the hangar while we put the plane away.   Another successful Pilots N Paws mission.

From here Brandi stayed overnight with Rachel, Adoption Counselor at BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter).

Monday morning Rachel brought sweet Brandi back to Carroll Co. Airport for the final flight to Philly with Scott.

This little girl is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family.

I just want to let everyone know that Brandi arrived in NE Philly at around noon time today, flown in by Scott who lives in the Baltimore area, thank you again Scott!

She went to her foster home this afternoon, just a few blocks from where I live, I am sure sleeping. I took her to the health food store I work at and some time around 5 pm, she just passed out ... all the excitement of the day finally got to her ; ))  When her foster mom came to get her, we had a heck of time waking her up and getting her to come out of her crate, she just wanted to lay in there and sleep ; ))

She is such a sweet little thing, such a happy puppy. BTW, Ashli, she is walking on a leash JUST fine ; ))

I can't thank you all enough for your help getting this little baby to me, you are all so wonderful!

Rosemary
So glad she is finally there! I think all of this meeting new people and being expected to walk on a leash from folks she couldn't "pull one over on" LOL! has just been the best training she could have had! Thanks to everyone so much for helping me save her from a certain death down here in my shelter...without each of you she wouldn't have made it to Rosemary. Thanks so much and I hope all of you have the most wonderful holidays!! Ashli
